PROBATION DEPARTMENTS ACROSS NEW YORK HAVE STARTED SCREENING YOUNG OFFENDERS FOR RISK OF SUICIDE AS A WAY TO CONNECT THEM WITH MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. MANY YOUTHS END UP IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM AFTER OTHER SOCIAL SAFETY NETS HAVE FAILED AND BRING WITH THEM MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS LIKE DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY. “IT TAKES THE SUBJECTIVITY OUT OF IT FOR US AND THAT STRESS OF, ‘ARE WE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION?'” SAID LYNNE MIGNEMI, THE PROBATION DIRECTOR IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY.

A DANSVILLE MAN IS FACING FELONY ASSAULT CHARGES FOLLOWING AN INVESTIGATION INTO AN INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED IN JULY REPORTS THE LIVINGSTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE. TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD TRAVIS L. AMIOT WAS ARRESTED AUG. 8 AND CHARGED WITH SECOND-DEGREE ASSAULT. AMIOT WAS LATER ARRAIGNED AND REMANDED HIM TO THE CUSTODY OF THE SHERIFF ON $5,000 CASH BAIL OR $10,000 BOND.

THE BATAVIA MUCKDOGS ANNOUNCED THAT THURSDAY’S GAME VS. THE WEST VIRGINIA BLACK BEARS WILL BE FIRST RESPONDERS NIGHT AT DWYER STADIUM. IN APPRECIATION OF AREA FIRST RESPONDERS, THE MUCKDOGS WILL BE OFFERING TWO COMPLIMENTARY GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS TO THE GAME FOR ALL ACTIVE POLICE, FIRE, AND EMERGENCY SERVICES PERSONNEL. FIRST RESPONDERS CAN RECEIVE THEIR TICKETS BY SHOWING PROPER IDENTIFICATION AT THE DWYER STADIUM BOX OFFICE DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.
