LISA A. GALLOWAY, 37, OF DANSVILLE WAS ARRESTED BY STEUBEN (STEW BEN) COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT AND CHARGED WITH MISUSE OF FOOD STAMPS, STEUBEN COUNTY SHERIFF JIM ALLARD REPORTED. GALLOWAY USED ANOTHER PERSON’S BENEFIT CARD IN 2018 AND CHARGED OVER FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS.  GALLOWAY WAS RELEASED ON AN APPEARANCE TICKET AND WILL APPEAR IN THE VILLAGE OF BATH COURT AT A LATER DATE.

A NIAGARA COUNTY MAN ACCUSED OF FORCIBLY RAPING AND SODOMIZING A WOMAN IN ARCADE HAS BEEN ACQUITTED OF ALL CHARGES. FORTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD RICHARD A. LEATHERS, OF NEWFANE, WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY OF TWO COUNTS OF FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL SEXUAL ACT, FIRST-DEGREE RAPE, FIRST-DEGREE COERCION, AND SECOND-DEGREE COERCION THE VERDICT CAME THURSDAY AFTERNOON AFTER A BENCH TRIAL BEFORE JUDGE MICHAEL MOHUN IN WARSAW.

JOYCE E. “TILLIE” MITCHELL, THE DICKINSON CENTER WOMAN WHO HELPED TWO CONVICTED KILLERS ESCAPE FROM THE CLINTON CORRECTIONAL FACILITY IN DANNEMORA HAS ONCE AGAIN BEEN DENIED PAROLE. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME SHE HAS BEEN DENIED PAROLE. HER NEXT PAROLE HEARING IS IN 2021

THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ANNOUNCED THAT STATE ROUTE 21 IN TOWN OF COHOCTON WILL BE REDUCED TO ONE LANE LINE ON JUNE 18.  THIS LANE CLOSURE IS HAPPENING TO REPAIR TO ROAD BASE AND DRAINAGE TO STATE ROUTE 21. WORK IS ANTICIPATED TO LAST APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK.
