THE STEUBEN COUNTY LANDFILL CAUGHT FIRE YESTERDAY AND SIXTEEN DIFFERENT FIRE DEPARTMENTS RESPONDED TO EARLY-MORNING FIRE BATH. THE FIRST CALL CAME IN AT 3:12 AM AND THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BY 8:30 AM. THE FIRE SHOT ACROSS THE TOP OF THE DUMP BUT FORTUNATELY, NO STRUCTURES WERE DAMAGED. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS UNDETERMINED.
