AAA says Gas prices in Livingston County continue to drop. The average price is now $2/85 a gallon, down 4 cents from last week but still 20 cents higher than last December. The statewide price—down to 2>76, while the average across the U S is 2.46, down a dime from last week. It pays to shop around—in Livonia, the prices is 2.78, while in Nunda, gas is still over $3.00—at 3.03, which is actually UP a penny from last week. Our region consistently sees some of the highest gas prices in New York, but experts are at a loss to why. As for the decline, AAA says supplies are up—while demand is down around the country, which means prices should continue to fall as we head into 2019.

A woman from Rochester is accused of providing the drugs that killed a man in Greenwood last year. A grand jury has indicted 59-year-old nancy Alvarez, who is now facing is facing charges of second-degree manslaughter, reckless endangerment and sale of a controlled substance. The 48-year-old man died after an overdose of heroin laced with fentanyl in August 2017 and state police investigators say evidence collected at the scene and since then led to Alvarez’ indictment. She was arrested in Rochester and brought to Steuben county where she is being held without bond.

The historic Steuben County courthouse in Hornell goes up for auction today. The building has been on the market since September. City officials say the old courthouse is valued at $500,000 and whoever buys it will have to put at least $2,000 down and 20% of the bid price, plus another 10 percent buyers premium. The bidding is open to anyone unless they owe back taxes or have been in foreclosure any time since 2009. Court was in session there from 1907 to 1986 but has seen other occupants since the court moved out.

The man accused of abducting a teenager in Rochester is facing sex abuse and other charges. Prosecutors say 41-year-old Robert Gonzalez left the area with 14-year-old Joanna Coates last weekend. The pair were found in Brooklyn on Tuesday, hours after an AMBER Alert was triggered. Gonzalez is expected to be arraigned today.

State lawmakers are going to see a boost to their bottom lines in the coming years. A commission voted yesterday to increase their pay from 79-thousand 500 dollars a year to 130-thousand bucks annually in 2021. In exchange, they’ll have to limit what they can earn outside of their legislative positions. It’s the first pay raise for New York lawmakers in years.

The pay–$12.00 an hour but if you shovel for more than four hours, you’ll get a ticket to a Bills game for your efforts. The team needs to get the stands clear for this Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
