Check the eggs in your refrigerator if you bought them at a Livingston County Wal-Mart. The FDA says it is recalling more than 200 million eggs from a farm in North Carolina farm that were sold up and down the east coastincluding at WalMart under the Great Value Brand. Reports say at least one carton sold at the store in Geneseo was from the lots called back because of concerns about salmonella. The FDA websiteFDA.gov..has more on the recall and the lots involved . So far there are no reports of anyone getting sick.

A runner from Livingston County will be among the among the most elite athletes in the world today, taking part in the for the Boston Marathon. John Schnitter will be near the front of the pack at the starting line, due to his pas success in marathons..he won the 2017 Rochester Marathon and competed in Boston two years ago. He hopes to finish the 26 miles race in 2 hours and 40 minutes..about 40 minutes behind the winner’s time. He has trained on the hills around Geneseo, putting in up to 80 miles on the roads every week.

Honors for some long time volunteers in the Perkinsville Fire department. The Department holding a banquet to thank those who have answered the call, ncluding Bob Hughes ,who has been a volunteer for 50 years and Ted Conrad, who has been turning out for 70 years–since 1948. Fire chief Walt Drum Junior says there aren’t many departments anywhere that can boast of having someone who has been active for that long Drum says all volunteers, no matter how long they have been on the squad– are specialand play an important role keeping the community safe.

The Livingston County Sheriffs office has arrested a woman from Rochester after a stop in Mt, Morris. The department says 27 year old Syndie Malinowski was driving with a license that had been suspended 16 time when she was pulled over on Mt. Morris Geneseo Roadand that a search turned up heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned and taken to jail on $4,000 bond.

Democrats are targeting Congressman Chris Collins seat in this fall’s election. A ranking official with the Democratic National Campaign Committee says several Republican Congressmen New York are vulnerable next election including Collins. The 25th is oner of 7 New York districts believe they can flip. Democrats need to pick up around two-dozen seats to take back the House

Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly is improving. Kelly had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his jaw less than three weeks ago in New York City. He has been discharged from the hospital over the weekend but is staying in New York City nearby there to recover. His wife Jill posted a video on Instagram of Kelly in a Bills fleece walking along the streets of New York.
