Police have charged a woman from Ossian with domestic violence after an altercation. They say the male victim as injured and have to be taken to the hospital after that incident at a residence there. 53 year old Shery Arviso was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. She was taken in Livingston county jail on , who set bail at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond

A big show this weekend at the National warplane museum. The museum’s annual air show takes place at the fieldand one veteran will get a surprisefrom the sky. The group Operation buildupwhich helps veterans with various donations will give one of throe cars away after its C E O parachutes onto the field with a set of keys that will go to an unsuspecting veteran. Museum official say it’s a great way to highlight the work of operation build upwhich hopes to surprise 150 other vets with cars and other donations statewide by the end of the year.

Lake Ontario keeps dropping. The Army Corps of Engineers said over the weekend the lake’s water level has dropped nearly four inches in spite of recent rains. They predict that the level will drop another seven inches by August This is good news for all those who are still affected by the lake’s flooding. The state continues to seek federal disaster help for those affected.

Two former inmates at the Groveland state correctional facility were just months away from getting released but nowthey could face more time after getting charged with having prison contraband. 24 year old Charles Phelps was set to be released two days before Christmas after serving most of a 3 year term for robberyand 24 year old Laquan hill of Rochester due out September 11th after almost finishing his sentence when they were charged in connection with an investigations that started in April. No word on just What the two men had that got them into more trouble

A new york state trooper has been shot and killed in the line of duty Police say it happened late last night in the town of Theresa, near Watertown, last They say active duty infantryman Justin Walterswho is stationed at Fort Drum surrendered after a woman and Trooper Joel Davis were shot and killed. Trooper Davis was responding to a domestic call. The identity of the woman wasn’t released but early reports suggest it was Walters’ wife. The investigation is ongoing.

Happy Birthday to the Erie Canal. Celebrations continue this week along the canal which turns 200 this week. Construction started in the July 1817 on what many considered a follybut turned out to be a vital link to the between the Hudson River and Great Lakes.
