Protectives Play Well in Pair



    Despite dropping a pair of ballgames during the course of the week, Protectives from the Dansville Little League has shown some great improvement & the young team is gaining some valuable experience while touting some fine performances in those 2 games. Coach Don Mosko reported….

    Coach Mosko noted, “this was probably one of our best games of the year. We had some great defense both in the infield & the outfield as well.” LMC had built a 6-0 lead going into the 3rd inning. Protectives came back & scored all 5 of their runs in the bottom of the 3rd to make it a  6-5 contest. LMC would score 3 more in the 6th as Pros put a scare into their opponents with an improved performance from the first time the 2 teams met. For Protectives….Nic Fisher was 1-3 with a 2-run triple & scored a run while making a fine defensive play in left field…Brady Race threw 3 innings & gave up just 1 run while going 1-2 at the plate & scoring a run…Reid Martin was 1-2 & scored a run…he struck out 3 in 2 solid innings on the mound….Ty Schirmer 2-3 & scored a run…Trevor Versluis went 3-3….Ben Everett also made a nice defensive play in center field while scoring a run in the game as well.

    Once again Moose took the early lead, only to see Protectives put some runs on the board late while coming up short in this one. For Pros….Trevor Versluis went 1-2 & drove in a pair of runs while throwing an inning striking out 2….Reid Martin was 1-1 & also threw an inning with 1-K….Nic Fisher, Logan Zepkowski & Ben Everett each scored a run…Ty Schirmer was 1-2 & scored a run…Brady Race pitched one inning & struck out 2….and Kyrstin Wolfanger knocked in a run.
