Late Rally By Moose Rips Raubers

    Moose      8                     Rauber’s         5

On Knox Street in Dansville in Advanced Minor League baseball action on Monday (May 16) night Rauber’s grabbed the early lead, but a 5-run 5th by Moose would decide the day’s activities as the Dansville club came up with an 8-5 over the Wayland based team. Rauber’s  dug right in & put a pair of runs on the board in the first inning.  Moose returned the favor in the bottom half  “plus one” as coach Mel Mensinger’s club took a short-lived lead of 3-2 as Ryder Whitman’s hit was the key blow in the bottom of the first. The Appliance Dealers  grabbed the lead right back with 3 more runs to make it  5-3. Both hurlers settled down & the defenses began making key plays & the goose eggs were going up on the board. Moose made their final move with 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th as wildness resulted in a number of walks that both gave the home team baserunners, & also forced runs across the plate as well. Moose would hold the line on Raubers in the top of the 6th to secure the victory as Lucas Mensinger came out of the bullpen to notch the “win” in relief as the “closed the door” in the final inning to preserve the victory.

Cameron Delaney started on the hill for Moose, Robert Balconi threw a couple of innings, & then Lucas Mensinger hand-cuffed Raubers pitching the final 4 innings of scoreless baseball while striking out 10 & walking 2, and giving up just 2 hits.  Offensively for Moose…Lucas Mensinger had a pair of stolen bases & scored a run in his own behalf….Dylan Greene was 1-3….Robert Balconi & Matt Fronk each stole 2 bases & scored a run….Ryder Whitman 1-2 with a pair of steals & scored once…Cameron Delaney 1-1 with 2 stolen bases….Carson Mays, Dakota Donohue, Jediel Parillo & Mark Sick each scored runs for the winners.
