Dansville girls track coach Eileen McMaster’s philosophy focuses upon “improvement” & that aspect of her team’s efforts was quite evident at Saturday’s (Apr. 30) Warsaw Invite. “We’re so proud of the Lady Mustangs who performed well & gave 100% in Warsaw!” That tremendous effort extended from the seasoned seniors down to the junior varsity athletes & 8th graders. The Mustang “highlight rundown” unfolds this way….

-Seniors Leah Whiteman & Raegan Lemmon finished first in their respective events…Leah took first in the 100 M hurdles & 400 M hurdles…which automatically qualifies her for Sectionals. Raegan set a personal record ( P.R.ed) in the discus.
-Other athletes who had “double P.R.’s” included….Breigh Graves in the 400m hurdles & the 800 meter run…Hadassah Adams in the triple-jump & 200 m….Katie Warner threw her best shot & improved her long jump as well.
– .Carly McKinney shaved 16 seconds off of her 3000 meter time.
– Gabby Anderson & Rachel Drake both PRed in the open 400 meters.
-Sam King provisionally qualified for the Sectionals & set a new personal best in the pole vault.
-Congrats to J.V. triple jumpers….as Alyssa Bowser took 1st, & Abigail Adams 3rd.
-Eighth graders showed some promise for the future as Emma Beardsley finished higher than she was seeded in both of her open races. Mackenzie Lawless along with her relay teammates Leah Whiteman, Rachel Drake & Gabby Anderson improved their 4×100 m time for the 4th meet in a row!

Congratulations ladies & continued success in the future! The Mustangs will celebrate “senior day” on Tuesday (May 3) when they host Hornell.
