Dansville Girls Track Gets “A Leg Up” on Perry 4/28

Dansville girls track coach Eileen McMaster couldn’t have been happier on Thursday (Apr. 28) afternoon as her Lady Mustangs raced to a huge 92-45 victory over Perry at the “Bee Hive”. The effort would have plenty of highlights including the fact that Dansville would have 4 triple-event winners, while both relays were victorious & another athlete posted wins in a pair of events! Triple-winners included Mackenzie Lawless who took the 100, 400, & 4×100 relay. Sam Miller took the distance events in the 1-mile, 2-mile & the 4×800 relay. Leah Whiteman won the 200, 100 hurdles & 4×100 relay. Sam King set a personal record in both the long jump & pole vault while emerging victorious in the triple jump as well. EJ Errington wond 2 events, topping out in the high jump & shot put. The 4×100 relay team broke their personal best with a time of 54.8. Congrats to Gabby Anderson, Mackenzie Lawless, Rachel Drake & Leah Whiteman. The 4×800 relay squad took a top spot featuring the speed of Sam Miller, Gwen Werth, Emma Beardsley & Alyssa Cox. Emma Beardsley too 2nd in the mile & was on the winning 4×800 relay team.
Other highlights were Rachel Drake took 2nd in the 400 & was on the winning 4×100 relay squad. Katie Warner finished 2nd in the shot, & in the discus threw 23 feet further than her previous record. Other personal records were set by Breigh Graves in the 400 hurdles, Carly McKinney & Gabby Rettberg in the 3000 meteres. Gabby Anderson P-R’d in the 100 & finished 3rd, she was on winning 4×100 relay. Congratulations ladies ! Dansville heads off to the Warsaw invite on Saturday (Apr. 30).
