Livonia 14 Wayland-Cohocton 2
The Livonia Lumber Company kept rolling on Wednesday (Apr. 27) afternoon at Baker Field as they took advantage of some Wayland-Cohocton fielding miscues & eased to a 14-2 win in high school baseball. The Bulldogs put up a lot of crooked numbers in the game as the only inning they failed to score was in the 2nd. Coach Scott Gilman’s club would pile up the hits & runs against 4 different Way-Coh hurlers en route to the victory. After Livonia had built a sizeable lead, Wayland-Cohocton would break up the shutout bid in the top of the 4th. Jason Page singled & then Curran Finn walked. Eythan Briggs would follow with a booming double to plate both runs….but that would it for the Golden Eagles in this one.
Jason Page was 2-3 with stolen base & scored a run….Curran Finn scored a run….& Eythan Briggs finished going 2-3 with a double & 2 rbis for the Golden Eagles who travel to Wellsville on Friday (Apr. 29). Livonia was led by Maddux Minton’s 4-4 game, & Reid VanScoter went 3-5 in the victory. The Bulldogs will host Dansville Friday in a 4:30pm start.
