Dansville Softball Strikes With First Win in Hornell

Wednesday (Apr. 13) was a “winner” in more ways than one for the Dansville softball team who posted their initial triumph of the season at Maple City Park in Hornell by a 7-4 final as coach Nick Crawford’s Lady Mustangs broke a tie with 3 huge runs in the 7th! Abby Kuhn’s hit in that inning would put the red & black in front for good as Dansville broke a 4-all tie in that final rally in the Maple City.

Every time the Mustangs would take the lead, Hornell would battle right back. Dansville scored twice in the top of the first, & then the Red Raiders tied it in the bottom half. Dansville pulled ahead with 2 in their half of the 2nd. Hornell battled back in the bottom of the 5th to knot it up again at 4-4.
The Mustangs saw Natasha King record the pitching victory working 7 innings giving up 4 runs on 4 hits & struck out 2. Offensively Hannah Rex 2-5 with a run scored…Cheyenne Markowski 2-4 & scored twice…Maddie Farrell 2-4, scored a run & drove in 3…Abby Kuhn 2-4 with a run scored & an rbi.
