Dansville Indoor Track & Field coaches Eileen McMaster, Joe DeBell, & Amanda Johnson were quite excited over the weekend when the Lady Mustangs claimed the Livingston County Title ! Friday night (Jan. 29) at RIT also saw both boys & girls teams compile over a dozen new personal bests. The outstanding performances by so many athletes brought into focus the phenomenal work ethic of these dedicated youngsters ! Congratulations to all of the athletes & coaches on an outstanding job in every aspect!
Taking a look at some of the standout efforts turned in by the Mustangs….here are some of the statistics.
The 4×200 relay team of Ellennia Jo Errington, Sam King, Rachel Drake & Leah Whiteman were “double trouble” as they not only took first, but also established another new personal best time. Leah Whiteman was “twice as nice” with great accomplishments in winning the 55 m hurdles & also ran her PR in the 55 meters. Talk about having some depth & a future for the program…freshman Rachel Drake ran her best time in both the 300 & 600 meters. Another 9th grader, Alex Kendall PRed in both the hurdles & 600 meters.
Josh Jacobs ran his personal best in the 1000 & was less than a second off the automatic qualifying time for the sectionals.
The coaching staff also zeroed in on the fact that the Field Event team had a “doubly” good time as they establish many double PR’s. Coming away from RIT with twin-personal bests were Caleb Johnson in the shot & weight throw….Samantha King in the long & triple jump….Alfred Nickerson in the 55m & weight throw…Ellennia Jo Errington in the long jump & relay.
Hannah Rex tossed her personal best in the weight throw, & Hadassah Adams also had a personal best in the long jump!
Go Mustangs !
