York 56 Way-Coh 39
The York Golden Knights proved why they’re now 9-1 as they got off to a strong start on Tuesday (Jan. 5) night in downing visiting Wayland-Cohocton 56-39 in boys basketball action at the “Round Table in Retsof.” The purple & gold raced to a 19-8 lead in the opening period & then extended it to 36-17 by halftime as they would coast to the home win over the young Golden Eagles. Hunter Stella put up a double-double for York with 21 points & 10 boards, while Josh Kobylanski scored a dozen & had 7 rebounds. Cody Dubiel had 9 points & 9 rebounds for the Knights who played without the services of Andrew Guesno in the contest. Wayland-Cohocton was paced by Tyler Bosh’s 17 markers, including 3 three-poiners….Mike Feinman added 10, Connor Englert & Jack Gibson had 5 apiece for coach Jeff Englert’s club.
