Wellsville Too Much for Wayland-Cohocton Boys

Wellsville 71 Wayland-Cohocton 30

It wound up being a huge mismatch as the Wellsville Lions were “roaring”on Tuesday night (Jan. 12) as they manhandled a very young & maturing Wayland-Cohocton entry in boys basketball. The final wound up a lot to a little (71-30) Golden Eagles skipper Jeff Englert put things in perspective “Wellsville is a very dominant, senior-led team They’re defending Sectional champs for a reason.”

The Lions pushed out in front early in the game & never looked back as the orange & black (10-2) were led by Liam Ebert’s 17 points & 10 assists, Dylan Griffiths had 11, while Dave Lawson also had a double-double with 10 points & 10 boards. Wayland-Cohocton ( 0-11) saw Mike Feinman score 10 points, while Jack Gibson netted 7, Mitchell Wetherbee scored 6, while Connor Englert & Anthony Sarago each added 5. Tyler Bosh had 4 steals for Way-Coh. Coach Englert added, “despite the results tonight, our team still continues to get better. We have been very comeptitive over the past couple of weeks until running into Wellsville.”
