Livonia 74 Dansville 28
In the cozy confines of the “Dog House” Livonia was certainly “at home” in more ways than one. Coach Karen Schuster’s squad “lit things up” on this Friday (Jan. 15) night as lady Bulldogs were “off to the races” early against visiting Dansville in a one of those “a lot to a little” scenarios. The Bulldogs were “hot”, the Mustangs were “not” in a 74-28 final in girls high school basketball action at the Tom Downey Gymnasium.
Livonia (10-3) got out of the blocks quickly with a 26-6 run in the first 8 minutes of play. Things didn’t get much rosier for coach Kristen Moose’s team in the 2nd period as a 20-6 spurt put the home time on top soundly 46-12 by the end of the half. Both teams full rosters received some “quality playing time”…especially in the 2nd half as the Bulldogs cruised to their 10th win of the season in the 74-28 final.
The orange & blue was led by Molly Stewart’s 16 points, Melissa Mineti notched 14…Maddy Herzog 10…Niki Templeton had 10 points, 9 rebounds & 5 steals….Sarah Nation had 8 points & 10 boards…Hannah Donnelly & Morgan Hyde had 6 each…& Sarah Linsner scored 4 in the victory. The Bulldogs visit Edison Tech on Tuesday (Jan. 19) night. Dansville ( 4-10) saw Sabrina Didas score a dozen points, Abby Kuhn contributed 6, while Baylie Harnish & Katelin Everman had 4 apiece, & Bri Henchen scored 2. The Lady Mustangs host Keshequa on Tuesday night at “the Corral.”
