Keshequa 43 Warsaw 31
Coach Bill Mann’s Indians took an early lead in the battle of the “orange & black” opponents & Keshequa would hold on with a late defensive stand to defeat Warsaw in boys basketball action Friday night (Jan. 8) in Tiger-town by a 43-31 final. The shots were dropping early in the game for the Indians as the visitors took a quick 18-10 lead after one period of play. That lead would hold up at the half. Warsaw would shave away a little of that lead in the 3rd, but Keshequa’s defense went into a “shut down” mode & shut out Warsaw in the final quarter to post the 43-31 victory.
Cory Baker led Keshequa (6-7) with a dozen points, Gavin Duryea & Austin Schmidt had 11 apiece while Brad Bennett had 6 for the victorious Indians. Warsaw ( 0-12) received 11 points from Ethan Grawe who nailed a trio of 3’s, Mike Page & Logan Motz both added 6, Alex Fanaro, & Nate Tangeman had 4 each, & Lory Hulme scored 2 for the Tigers.
