Strong Second Half Keys Avon Girls Over Dansville

It was a struggle for control of this contest at the “Mustangs Corral” on Friday (Dec. 18) night as Avon “pumped up” their play in the 2nd half to push past host Dansville in a 55-46 girls basketball test. The 2 L.C.A.A. cross-over foes traded buckets throughout the first half of action as the score was knotted at 23-23 at the half. Coach Pete Leone’s ladies put 20 points on the board in the 3rd period & then held Dansville to just 8 points from a defensive perspective to post the 9 point win in the end.
Avon (5-1) was led by Olivia Findlay’s 18 points…Amy Faville contributed a dozen…Madison Raynard scored 11….Abby VanDuser 6…Natalie Mignemi 5… & Keni Read finished with 3. The Braves head into the Christmas break with home date with Letchworth on Wednesday night (Dec. 23).

Dansville (3-5) was paced by Bri Henchen’s 17 markers with 4 rebounds & 2 assists…Brooke Hartson scored 7 with 5 rebounds, 4 assists & 3 blocked shots…Abby Kuhn had 7 with 11 rebounds, 4 blocked shots & a pair of assists…Sarah Cotton had 7 points as well as 8 rebounds & 5 assists…Sabrina Didas scored 5 & grabbed 10 rebounds with 3 blocked shots….& Meghan Waters scored one point with a rebound, a blocked shot & an assist. Coach Kristen Moose’s club visits Bath on Wednsday night.
