Livonia’ JV’s Hold Off Way-Coh

Livonia JV 41 Wayland-Cohocton 37

On Wednesday (Dec. 23) night at “the Nest” the Livonia junior varsity girls mounted a double-digit lead for coach Dave Stewart, but the pesky Golden Eagles came back to make a game of it as the Bulldogs hung on for 41-37 win on the road. The orange & black led 12-4 after one period of play & then extended it to 25-12 at the half. The visitors were up 33-21 after 3 quarters of action as well. Coach Greg McInnis’ Golden Eagles would scrap back & doubled up the Dogs 16-8 in the 4th, as the Eagles had a shot to cut it to 2 with about 1: 30 left, but could get no closer.

Wayland-Cohocton’s junior varsity was led by Delaney Brehm’s 17 points, while McKenzie Johnson pumped in 16, & Evyn Meldrum added 2. Livonia was led by Vanessa Galbraith’s 10 points & Abby Burdett scored 8 and Audrey Minton scored 7 in the win.
