Keshequa 61 Canisteo-Greeenwood 43
Whoever heard of the” Indians” beating up on the” Redskins”? There was no “brotherly love” on the hardwood in Nunda in a local version of ” tribal warfare” in Monday (Dec. 14) night basketball action. First year head coach Bill Mann’s Keshequa club got rolling early on the home floor as they outscored Canisteo-Greenwood 17-9 in the first quarter. The momentum continued for the Indians into the 2nd quarter as the orange & black offense was “clicking” as they put up 20 points in the period taking a 37-20 lead in at halftime.
As the second half unfolded, the Redskins got “rowdy” & were rolling as they cut into Keshequa’s lead and sliced it down to 11 heading into the final period. Coach Mann rallied his troops & they put things together on both ends of the floor to close things out & hold off Canisteo-Greenwood. The Nunda-Dalton gang would close out the visitors in a 12-5 run in the 4th as the defense curtailed the Redskins offense when it needed to.
