Dansville J.V. Girls Keep On Rolling & Winning !

Dansville J.V. 49 Mt. Morris 13

What more can you say about the Dansville junior varsity girls basketball team? They just keep rolling along & continue to win ! That’s certainly not a bad thing if you’re a Mustangs’ fan. If this type of play continues, it could be a “bad omen” for the rest of the league in the very near future. Coach Mike Didas’ gals grabbed another “W” at the “Devils Den” in Mt. Morris on Wednesday (Dec. 30) night in convincing fashion.

The Mustangs’ pressure defense forced the Blue Devils into a number of turnovers. What do good teams do with turnovers? They capitalize on the other end. That’s exactly what Dansville did as they mounted a 17-2 lead after the first 8 minutes of play. Things never got any more attractive for Mt. Morris the rest of the way. The red & black cruised to a lopsided 49-13 win improving their win-loss record to 9-1 as the calendar year comes to an end. Didas added, ” we used some good ball movement to attack their 2-3 zone, & we again had balanced scoring as all the girls had plenty of scoring opportunities in the game.”
One of the amazing things about this particular team is the fact that they can all contribute in multiple ways. There seems to be a different high scorer every night, & when one girl isn’t scoring, she’s rebounding…if she’s not dishing out assists, she’s stealing the ball or blocking shots. Its really been the epitome of ” the team concept” for sure. Dansville hosts Pavilion on Wednesday night ( Jan. 6), while Mt. Morris hosts C.G. Finney on Monday evening (Jan. 4th).
