Wayland-Cohocton Volleyball Drops 2 Tough Ones


The Wayland-Cohocton Volleyball team were in action twice last week & came up short on both accounts as the were “road warriors” paying visits to both Caledonia-Mumford & Dansville on Monday (Oct. 5) & Wednesday (Oct. 7) respectively.
Coach Jenn Jerome saw her Golden Eagles drop the first game to Cal-Mum at the Red Raider Rotunda, but battled back giving the maroon & grey a run in the 2nd, but couldn’t get over the hump. Highlights for Wayland-Cohocton saw Shailynn Celentano with 6 digs…Vannessa Palmer had 6 service points, an ace & an assist…while Alexia Bowers had 11 service points, 3 aces & 1 kill.

Against rival Dansville, the Mustangs took the first game & Wayland-Cohocton made it very close in the 2nd & 3rd as the Eagles failed to rise above the storm to get the victory. Way-Coh highlights saw Cassie Batzel with 7 service points, 2 aces, 7 digs & 2 kills….Vannessa Palmer had 9 service points, 5 aces & 3 assists….as Addie Kelly had 10 digs. The Golden Eagles are now (3-10 overall) as they host York on Tuesday Oct. 13th & entertain Livonia on Friday Oct. 16th.
