After a rough winter — and then spring flooding — the town of Hornell has a Preparedness Training session coming up for residents.

It’s next Saturday, the 12th at Hornell High.

It’s free and every family that shows up will get a back-pack with supplies: safety goggles, an emergency blanket, an AM/FM pocket radio with batteries, a regular flashlight, work gloves, duct tape and more.

The National Guard will give a 90-minute presentation on emergency preparedness
