Cleaning Water For Crabs. Hornell Applies For Grant.

The Hornell Common Council is applying for a water grant — $180,000 that would be used to remove phosphate from water that’s treated at the sewage plant.

Water from the plant ultimately ends up in the Chesapeake Bay, and new rules require water to be much cleaner than in that past, so that it won’t affect the crab industry in the Bay.
