The company that operates the desalination plant in Livingston county tells the GeneseeSun.com that they do plan to shut down the plant.
They’re trying to work that out with the state. The company says they believe there will be no negative affect on the environment if salty water from an old mine is no longer treated. And they say that keeping the plant open is just too expensive. The company is even offering to make a big payment to the state to walk away from the project.
