There’s a new pilot program encouraging people to try out different state parks that they may have never visited before. “Expedition New York” features the Genesee Region’s four state parks, Letchworth, Darien Lakes, Lakeside Beach and Hamlin Beach. The Livingston County News says those who do will get a limited edition keepsake reward.
The Genesee State Park Region is part of the statewide system of parks and historic sites managed by the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The statewide system includes 179 state parks and 35 historic sites, visited by 60 million people annually.
