Town of Perry revs up for bicentennial celebration

The town of Perry is set to commemorate its bicentennial in 2014 and they’ve decided a logo will be a crucial first step, and are welcoming entries as part of a contest.

Those interested are asked to design an official Bicentennial logo, which will be used on all official Bicentennial events, publications, media releases, memorabilia, and more. The winner of the chosen design will receive a $100 prize.

The committee notes, although the village of Perry — incorporated 16 years later — will play a vital role in the celebration, the  bicentennial marks the year the town was created so designers are asked try to incorporate elements relevant to the town’s rural nature in their entries.

Entries will be judged by the committee. Multiple submissions are welcomed, and designers are asked to include their contact information. Deadline for entries is March 1, and the winning design will become the sole property of the town of Perry.

Entries may sent to Town of Perry, P.O. Box 205, Perry, N.Y. 14530,  Attention: Bicentennial Committee.
