Hospitals in Warsaw and Dansville are among 18 in New York that qualify for the “Low Volume Hospital Program.” Those hospitals tend to treat a high number of patients on Medicare.

The program will provide, $817,000 to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw and $233,000 to Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

Noyes Health has 500 employees, and Wyoming has 600. Hospital leaders said they would have had to cut staff and services if the federal funding was eliminated.
