Fire breaks out at Canandaigua grain mill

At least five fire departments responded tonight to a fire at 168 Niagara Street in Canandaigua. The 6,474 square-foot wood building, formerly the home of Antiques Unlimited. The building,  built in 1900,  was originally a grain mill.  Fire fighters were able to keep the flames from homes near the old mill.

Firefighters and equipment was brought in from Crystal Beach, Hopewell, Canandaigua, Cheshire, and the Canandaigua VA Fire Departments. Roads were blocked for several hours as firefighters worked to control the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
