A 22 year Canandaigua Spanish teacher  is charged with sexual abuse after police say she had sexual contact with a 16 year old male student.

Lisa Footer, 44, of Manchester, has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

Canandaigua Police say the arrest came after an alleged incident this past Saturday night while Footer and the young man were parked in the Byrne Dairy parking lot.

Of the incidents that they are aware of, authorities say most, if not all of the other incidents  date back to the summer of this year and occurred outside the City of Canandaigua.

Police are looking into allegations of sexual encounter at Footers home where the teacher lives with her husband and two children.  Her 14 year old son is aquainted with the alleged victim.

There’s no evidence to suggest anything happened between the two while on school grounds or during school hours.  The relationship became known to a third party who contacted authorities.

The school district is cooperating with the investigation.  Footer is on administrative leave.

She has been released on $2500 dollars bail.
