Funeral services are set for Friday for a U.S. Marine from Ithaca who died from injuries suffered when his patrol in Afghanistan was attacked by a suicide bomber in January. Cpl. Christopher Bordoni’s body arrived Tuesday at the Syracuse airport. A motorcade escorted his casket the more than 60 miles to his hometown of Ithaca where he grew up and graduated from Ithaca High School. The 21-year-old Corporal was critically injured Jan. 18 in an attack by a suicide bomber. He was transferred to a military hospital in Texas, where he died last week.

Cpl. Bordoni’s funeral will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ithaca. He’ll be buried with military honors at Calvary Cemetery.
