Avon teen trying to flee Deputies faces DWI charges – passenger charged for damaging patrol car

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office report that shortly after 3:00 AM Friday a deputy observed a vehicle observed  traveling at a high rate of speed on Littleville Rd in the Town of Avon.  Upon pursuing the vehicle, the operator of the vehicle, 18 year old Michael Bellew of Avon fled into the woods but was located by a sheriff’s K-9 unit.

It was also discovered five other passengers were also inside the vehicle including a 15 year old juvenile. Bellew was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving with more than  .08% BAC, Aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, operating with tinted windows, and also unlawful possession of alcohol under 21. Bellew was arraigned in Avon Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $4,000.00 cash bail or $8,000.00 secured bond,

During the incident deputies arrested Jakob  Gallipeau age 17 of Avon for resisting arrest, unlawful possession of alcohol under 21, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree after damaging a patrol car. Gallipeau was arraigned in Avon Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu $500.00 cash bail or $1,000.00 secured bond.
